Itinerary

Day 1

Places: Airport Pickup, Guwahati to Shillong, Shillong sightseeing (130kms/7hrs)

We will receive you at Guwahati Airport. From there we will take you straight to Scotland of the East, the beautiful hill station, Shillong. Shillong is famous for its Scotland like weather, and its scenic beauty with green hills and pine trees. We will stop at Umiam lake to enjoy the panoramic lake view. Depending on the availability of time, we will show you the sightseeing spots like Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian Church, Wardâ€™s Lake, Don Bosco Museum etc. Stay in Shillong.

Day 2

Places: Shillong sightseeing (100kms/7hrs)

After breakfast, we will start our exciting sightseeing around Shillong. We will head towards Laitlum canyons, situated at around 30kms away from Shillong. On our way, we will stop at Smit valley. Beautiful boulevards of oaks and pines will greet your journey. After enjoying the beautiful views at Smit valley we will move towards Laitlum canyons. Here you can trek through green carpets of grass to witness the majestic plays of white clouds among top of the canyons. After finishing the sightseeing, we will take you for the sightseeing of the Mawphlang sacred forest, near Elephant falls. We will also show you the Shillong Peak. We will return to the city for the night's stay. Alternate option: If youâ€™re a trekking enthusiast, you can go for trekking from Laitlum canyons to the nearest village for a daylong trek in Mawphlang sacred forest. The complete up and down of the trek will take 5 to 6 hours

Day 3

Places: Shillong to Mawlynnong, Mawlynnong & Dawki sightseeing (150km/7hrs)

After breakfast, we will head towards the Asiaâ€™s cleanest village Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is famous for its cleanliness and living root bridges. We will further take you to Dawki, about 20 kilometers south of Mawlynnong. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. Optional boating is also available on Umngot River. After sightseeing at Dawki, we will take you to the campsite/resort in Dawki, where you will stay for the night.

Day 4

Places: Dawki and Shnongpdeng adventure activities, Dawki to Cherrapunji (100km/9hrs)

After breakfast in the camp, we will go for some adventure activities in Dawki/Shnongpdeng. Depending on the seasonal availability, you can go for sports like scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, cliff jumping, boating, or rock climbing. After finishing the activities of your choice, we will head towards to Cherrapunji. On our way to Cherrapunji, we will stop by at Mawdok valley view point for zip-lining (depending on the time and availability). Note that all activities are optional. After a thrilling day of adventures, we will head to Cherrapunji, where will be staying for the night.

Day 5

Trekking and sightseeing at Cherrapunji (90km/8hrs)

This day will be a fun day for trekkers. After breakfast in the early morning, we will take you for trekking in the Khasi hills. The complete trekking will be of about 15 kilometres (walking distance; not aerial distance) estimated to cover in a time period of 5 hours. This trekking will include the hiking of the Khasi hills, through Nongriat village, to double decker living root bridge and further to the Rainbow falls. If youâ€™re a trekking enthusiast, you can finish this trek by late afternoon, and go ahead for another short trek to the Wei Sawdong waterfalls (popularly known as Three-Step waterfalls). After finishing the adventures of trekking in Cherrapunji, we will return to our resort for a relaxing stay. Note that trekking activity (and expenses for guide) is optional in the package. The stay will be at the same place in Cherrapunji.

Day 6

Places: Cherrapunji to Kaziranga (320Km/8hrs)

After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park is a world heritage site situated in the heart of Assam. It is a beautiful forest, with wonderful animals and birds to watch. The most prominent one is the one horned rhinoceros, for which thousands of tourists from all over the world visits Kaziranga every year. After reaching there, we will check in to our hotel in Kaziranga for a relaxing stay.

Day 7

Places: Kaziranga Sightseeing, Kaziranga Safaris (70Kms/8hrs)

Early morning we will take you for exciting elephant safari. Feel the gratifying pleasure in the early morning elephant safari across National Park. Meet the pride of India, the great Asian one-horned Rhinos with wild Buffalo, Tiger, Elephant, variety of Deer, Python and variety of migratory birds, water birds, predators, scavengers and game birds etc. The ride will make you feel like sailing mysteriously on a green sea as the grass is as high as elephant. After breakfast, we will show you the local places around Kaziranga like the national orchid park, the ethnic village, model Assamese village, tea gardens, etc. This would be followed by a Jeep Safari at the national park, after lunch. Also don't forget to enjoy the delicious cuisines of Assam. After a complete day of enjoyment, you will be taken to your hotel for the night's stay. NOTE: Kaziranga national park is officially open from November through April. Safaris are officially is available is open season, and hence subjected to availability.

Day 8

Places: Kaziranga to Guwahati, Airport Drop

After breakfast, we will check out from hotel and drive back to Guwahati. We will drop you at the airport according to your departure time with the sweet memories of the trip with Kaziranga Travels.

Cost of 1 jeep safari with a dedicated jeep in Kaziranga National Park is included in the package.
Cost of 1 elephant safari in a shared elephant ride in Kaziranga National Park, subjected to availability, is included in the package.
Pickup and drop from Guwahati Airport / Railway station/Bus station.
All sightseeing, land transfer & inter hotel transfer.
Driver allowance, Toll, Parking, Road Tax, Fuel charge, night halt, Interstate charges, Kaziranga Forest toll and forest guard welfare fees are included.
Child below 5 yrs sharing same bed with parents will be complimentary and will be according to hotel rules.

A Note About Camping: The lavatory/toilets in Camping sites are common. Also, camping sites such as tents are spacious just enough to accommodate the necessary luggage along with the person. Camping sites will never have the luxury as that of regular hotel rooms. It is advised to take all of these points into account while choosing a package with camping.

Vehicle Details

The standard package cost is calculated for either a Toyota Innova (AC) or a Mahindra Maarazzo (AC). So, a dedicated vehicle of the said type, with a dedicated driver, would be provided for all of the five package options.

Note: In case a different vehicle type is needed, then please state the requirements in your query and we will send you a customized package file with quotations for the requirement.

Terms and Conditions

Above rates are calculated on the basis of hotels mentioned.
Paradise Northeast does NOT have any HIDDEN CHARGES.
If someone asks for extra money during the journey, Please inform us. We will not be responsible if you pay the amount without our knowledge and consent.
Booking will be confirmed only after receiving the advance payment.
In case of non availability of rooms in the mentioned hotels, this will be communicated to you and we will provide other options.
In case you are not convinced with the new options, advance paid will be refunded to you after deducting a service charge of INR 1,000.
Hotels for each category are selected as per the budget and through our feedback system.
There is no star category hotel available in all places. However, we provide the best possible option as per your tour category.
Certain hotel may enforce special tariffs for mandatory gala/dinner on special dates like Christmas and/or New Year's Eve etc. The surcharge in the hotel tariff is not included while calculating the total cost of the package. You may need to pay additional amount for certain hotels for some special dates.
The dedicated vehicle provided to you is only to serve you the itinerary. It is not at your disposal.
As per Tawang local laws, outside vehicles are not allowed for local sightseeing. Therefore, we may have to arrange different local vehicle for Tawang sightseeing and we can’t assure about the quality of that vehicle as they provide vehicles as per their methods.
Credit Cards / Traveler's check are not freely accepted in many places.
In this region, roof carriers are not allowed in the vehicles. So, it is advised to bring luggage accordingly.
We advise you to check the temperature/weather of the places you are going to visit, and bring necessary clothes accordingly.
Woolen clothes, Jacket, Raincoat/Umbrella etc. are advisable to carry according to weather conditions.
We suggest you to check reviews and location of hotels mentioned to make sure it is as per your preferences before confirming the package.
Any extra breakfast for kids which is not mentioned has to be paid directly by guest as per the hotel policy.
Paradise Northeast has the right to upgrade any hotel room type or vehicle type without charging extra amount from the guest. However, we never downgrade the same.
The guest must carry photo identification like Passport, Voter ID Card or Driving License IN ORIGINAL at the point of check in at the hotel.

The normal check-in time for a hotel is 2 PM, and normal check-out time for a hotel is 11 AM. However, this is subjected to change as per the hotel policies. The timing of meals and/or inclusions of a certain hotel room are as per the hotel policies.
