Itinerary

Day 1

Airport Pickup, Guwahati to Kaziranga (240km/5hrs)

After receiving you at the Guwahati airport, we will take you straight to Kaziranga National Park (KNP). KNP is a world heritage site situated in Golaghat district of Assam, famous for one horned rhinoceros. If we reach early, we will visit the national park on jeep safari in the afternoon. KNP is home to a number species of animals and birds. Apart from the rhino, there is tiger, leopard, Asiatic elephants, Indian bison, wild boar, deer, stag etc. to view. The stay will be at a hotel in Kaziranga.

Day 2

Kaziranga Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Early in the morning, we will take you to elephant safari of the jungle. On the back of elephants, you can have a better view of the jungle and the areas which are not easily accessible by jeep or foot. We will also take you to another jeep safari in the afternoon. Each of these safaris will give you different views of the park. In the meantime you will be taken to the local sightseeing spots like the orchid garden, the tea gardens, and the ethnic village models etc. The stay will be at the same hotel.

Day 3

Kaziranga to Majuli, Majuli Sightseeing (170km/8hrs)

After breakfast at Kaziranga, we will head towards the largest river island in the world – Majuli. Majuli was also recently declared as the first island district of India. The river island is so large that it becomes hard for people to believe that they are in the middle of a river! If you are interested in meeting the “Forest Man of India” Padma Shri Jadav Payeng, kindly inform us in the morning so that we can arrange on our way there, if he is available. After reaching Majuli, we will set out to explore the island. The attractions of Majuli are the Satras (Monasteries or institutions of Vaishnavite culture), the Mising and other tribal villages, the cycle trips etc. Our stay will be at Majuli.

Day 4

Majuli to Nameri (255km/7hrs)

Next day, from Majuli we will take you to Nameri national park. Nameri is situated in foothills of Himalayan ranges and is quite famous among the tourists for the adventure activities in and around the national park. The main attractions are activities like jungle trekking inside the park, river rafting on and angling in Jia Bhoroli river, which is a beautiful hilly river flowing along Nameri. Nameri national park is also home to a wide range of animals and birds. The stay will be at a beautiful resort/hotel in Nameri.

Day 5

Nameri to Dirang (160km/6hrs)

Our next destination would be Dirang. In the morning, we will take you there. Dirang is also a valley that lies in the foothill ranges of Himalaya situated in Arunachal Pradesh. It is very popular among the birders as they often come to this valley for Himalayan birding. After reaching Dirang, we will show you the beautiful valley and the sightseeing places around Dirang. The notable places to see in Dirang are Dirang – Dzong, Tibetan villages and the architectures of the Tibetan village, monastery, an old electricity mill etc. The stay for the night will be at Dirang.

Day 6

Dirang to Tawang (145km/7hrs)

Next morning, from Dirang valley we will start our journey towards Tawang. Before reaching Tawang, we will get many places to see on our way. We will visit those places one by one and then we will reach Tawang at last. On our way, we will show you a hot water spring just outside Dirang, Sela Pass at 13,700 feet, Sela lake, Jaswantgarh war memorial and Nuranung waterfalls. We will also stop by at Vaisakhi to taste some Dosas at a Dosa point. After reaching Tawang, we will take you out to show the places within Tawang. The notable places in Tawang are the Tawang Monastery, Sixth Dalai Lama birthplace, Nun Monastery, which is also accessible through rope ways, the emporium, apple orchards etc. The stay will be at Tawang.

Day 7

Around Tawang Sightseeing (150km/7hrs)

On this day will show you the places around Tawang which are not within the vicinity of Tawang. The places like the India – China border at Bum La Pass, Sangester Lake, PTSO Lake, Nagula Lake, Heart Lake, Y Junction, etc are scattered in different directions, away from the Tawang. After visiting those places, we will come back to Tawang by evening. The stay will be the same hotel. Please note that the visiting passes for Bum La Pass are difficult to obtain within a day. So, if you plan to visit the international border then make sure that you are choosing one our itineraries with at least three days’ stay in Tawang.

Day 8

Tawang to Bomdila (185km/8hrs)

From Tawang, we will head back to Bomdila in the morning. Bomdila is a very beautiful town, which is also situated in the foothills of Himalayan ranges. It comes right after Dirang on our way back, and it is also famous for Himalayan birding as the Eaglenest wildlife sanctuary is nearby the town. The other attractions of the town include a monastery (Bomdila monastery), Bomdila view point, Bomdila market etc. The night’s stay will be at a hotel in Bomdila.

Day 9

Bomdila to Tezpur (150km/5hrs)

From Bomdila we will come back to Tezpur. Tezpur – the cultural city of Assam, is a beautiful city with historical importance. There are many mentions of this city in the mythological stories of Hindu culture. It lies along the north bank of Brahmaputra. Tezpur also has many temples of Lord Shiva. The prime attractions are the Agneegarh, the Shiva temple, Coal Park and other gardens, the Brahmaputra Ghats etc. The stay for the night will be in a hotel in Tezpur.

Day 10

Tezpur to Shillong (270km/7hrs)

From Tezpur, you will be taken to Shillong – the Scotland of the East. Shillong is the capital city of Meghalaya and is also a beautiful hill station city surrounded by clouds and the Khasi hills. It is a very popular destination among the tourists for its Scotland like weather, with the cold breezes and drizzling rains. On the way, we will show you a beautiful lake in the outskirts of Shillong called Umiam Lake. We will stop there to enjoy some momos and the view of the lake. After reaching Shillong, the stay will be at a hotel in Shillong.

Day 11

Shillong & Cherrapunji Sightseeinhg (170km/9hrs)

We will show you around the city and prime sightseeing destinations of the city. The main attractions of Shillong are Wards Lake, Lady Hydari Park etc. Then we will take you to Cherrapunji. On the way, you will get to see the Shillong peak and the Elephant falls, just at the outskirts of Shillong. After reaching Cherrapunji, we will show you Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai caves and a few living root bridges, which are a wonder of Mother Nature. We will head back to Shillong to stay there for the night.

Day 12

Shillong to Guwahati, Airport Drop (100km/4hrs)

We will pick you up from the Hotel and drop you at Guwahati airport according to your departure time with sweet memories of the trip with Paradise Northeast.

Cost of 1 jeep safari with a dedicated jeep in Kaziranga National Park is included in the package.
Cost of 1 elephant safari in a shared elephant ride in Kaziranga National Park, subjected to availability, is included in the package.
Pickup and drop from Guwahati Airport / Railway station/Bus station.
All sightseeing, land transfer & inter hotel transfer.
Driver allowance, Toll, Parking, Road Tax, Fuel charge, night halt, Interstate charges, Kaziranga Forest toll and forest guard welfare fees are included.

The standard package cost is calculated for either a Toyota Innova (AC) or a Mahindra Maarazzo (AC). So, a dedicated vehicle of the said type, with a dedicated driver, would be provided for all of the five package options.

Above rates are calculated on the basis of hotels mentioned.
Paradise Northeast does NOT have any HIDDEN CHARGES.
If someone asks for extra money during the journey, Please inform us. We will not be responsible if you pay the amount without our knowledge and consent.
Booking will be confirmed only after receiving the advance payment.
In case of non availability of rooms in the mentioned hotels, this will be communicated to you and we will provide other options.
Hotels for each category are selected as per the budget and through our feedback system.
There is no star category hotel available in all places. However, we provide the best possible option as per your tour category.
Certain hotel may enforce special tariffs for mandatory gala/dinner on special dates like Christmas and/or New Year's Eve etc. The surcharge in the hotel tariff is not included while calculating the total cost of the package. You may need to pay additional amount for certain hotels for some special dates.
The dedicated vehicle provided to you is only to serve you the itinerary. It is not at your disposal.
As per Tawang local laws, outside vehicles are not allowed for local sightseeing. Therefore, we may have to arrange different local vehicle for Tawang sightseeing and we can’t assure about the quality of that vehicle as they provide vehicles as per their methods.
Credit Cards / Traveler's check are not freely accepted in many places.
In this region, roof carriers are not allowed in the vehicles. So, it is advised to bring luggage accordingly.
We advise you to check the temperature/weather of the places you are going to visit, and bring necessary clothes accordingly.
Woolen clothes, Jacket, Raincoat/Umbrella etc. are advisable to carry according to weather conditions.
