Itinerary

Day 1

Airport Pickup, Guwahati to Shillong (100km/4hrs)

Day 1 starts with picking you up at the airport of the Gateway of the North-east, Guwahati. We will then go to Shillong directly. It is around one hundred kilometres from Guwahati and located amidst the beautiful Khasi hills of Meghalaya. On the way, we will stop by at the beautiful Umiam Lake. After reaching Shillong, if we have enough time for sightseeing of the city, then we will take you out. You will stay for the night at Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Day 2 is for sightseeing of Shillong city and its nearby areas. Shillong is called the “Scotland of the East” and it is for a reason. The beautiful weather, the not too cold weather, the sprinkling rain, and the whistling winds through the pine add up to make it a wonderful place which resembles the paces of the far west. We will start with the places within the city like the Wards Lake, Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park, Police Bazaar. We will then check the places around the outskirts of the city starting with the beautiful falls - the Elephant falls. The night’s stay will be at the same place.

Day 3

Shillong to Mawlynnong & Dawki Sightseeing, Mawlynnong to Cherrapunji (245km/9hrs)

In the morning of day 3, we will start towards Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is known as Asia’s cleanest village. The village is itself something to watch, its clean roads, beautifully maintained homes and the warm gestures of the local people. Mawlynnong also has a living root bridge. We will then go to Dawki, south of Mawlynnong. Dawki is a border town at the India-Bangladesh border. You can witness another country from there. Dawki is famous for boating at the Umngot River and a bridge known as Dawki bridge over that river. The bridge is a suspension bridge constructed in 1932 by the British. We will then head towards Cherrapunji and stay there.

Day 4

Cherrapunji Sightseeing (60km/7hrs)

On day 4 we will do the sightseeing in Cherrapunji, the wettest place on Earth. The notable places in Cherrapunji are the Seven Sister falls, the Nohkalikai falls, and Mawsmai caves. There are also several living root bridges (both single Decker and double Decker) in Cherrapunji. The stay will at Cherrapunji for the night.

Day 5

Cherrapunji to Kaziranga (370km/9hrs)

In the morning (Day 5), we will head back towards Assam to visit the world heritage site Kaziranga National Park. Kaziranga needs no introduction. Apart from different wildlife species, beautiful migratory birds, the showstopper is the one horned rhinoceros for which millions of travellers and tourists come from around the globe to see it. After reaching Kaziranga, if we have enough time we will visit the local sightseeing. Your stay will be at Kaziranga.

Day 6

Kaziranga Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

At the early morning of the 6th day, we will take you to visit the national park on elephant safari. You will get to see the inside of Kaziranga on the back of elephants. Then we will take you on local sightseeing of the villages, the beautiful teagardens, orchid gardens, ethnic model village etc. In the afternoon we will take you to jeep safari of Kaziranga. KNP has total four ranges available for jeep safari, and each range is known for different species of birds and wildlife. Depending on your choice, we will take you to the range for jeep safari. You will stay at Kaziranga.

Day 7

Kaziranga to Majuli, Majuli Sightseeing (170km/8hrs)

On day 7, we will take you to Majuli. Majuli is the largest river island in the world and India’s first island district. Spanning over an area of 1250 square kilometres, it situated at the heart of river Brahmaputra. Ferries run all the time from the south bank of Brahmaputra in Jorhat to Majuli. Majuli is a unique place to experience the Vaishnavite culture of Assam. People from all over the world come to visit Majuli, fall in love with the place and stay there for months. The island has over 144 villages and around 150,000 populations. The prime attractions of Majuli are the Satras (Assamese Vaishnavite institutions or monasteries), the Mising tribal villages and the cycle trips around the beautiful island. On the way to Majuli, interested people can also meet environmental activist Mr. Jadav Payeng (depending on the availability), who is famous for creating a forest from a wasteland of 1,360 acres just by planting trees over many decades. The stay will be at Majuli.

Day 8

Majuli to Nameri (255km/7hrs)

On day 8 we will start our journey towards Nameri National Park. Nameri is situated in the foothills of Himalaya, famous for trekking inside the forest and river rafting. After reaching Nameri, you will be cheched-in to your hotel in Nameri.

Day 9

Nameri Sightseeing (70km/8hrs)

Next morning (Day 8), we will start the sightseeing of Nameri, beginning with the wildlife trekking inside the Park. After trekking, we will take you to river rafting on Jia Bhoroli River. We will take you to the start point and wait for you at the end point. The rafting is of around 20 kilometres which will take about three hours to complete. You will stay in the same place enjoying the nature.

Day 10

Nameri to Guwahati, Airport Drop (240km/5hrs)

Next day (day 10), we will take you to Guwahati. After reaching there if there is some time for sightseeing, then we will show you places around the city like the Kamakhya temple, the Sankardev Kalakshetra, the smallest island in the world – Umananda, Balaji temple etc. Then will drop you off at the airport at the required time.

All transportation will be organized by us through an dedicated air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver.

Cost of 1 jeep safari with a dedicated jeep in Kaziranga National Park is included in the package.
Cost of 1 elephant safari in a shared elephant ride in Kaziranga National Park, subjected to availability, is included in the package.
Pickup and drop from Guwahati Airport / Railway station/Bus station.
All sightseeing, land transfer & inter hotel transfer.
Driver allowance, Toll, Parking, Road Tax, Fuel charge, night halt, Interstate charges, Kaziranga Forest toll and forest guard welfare fees are included.
Child below 5 yrs sharing same bed with parents will be complimentary and will be according to hotel rules.

Vehicle Details

The standard package cost is calculated for either a Toyota Innova (AC) or a Mahindra Maarazzo (AC). So, a dedicated vehicle of the said type, with a dedicated driver, would be provided for all of the five package options.

Above rates are calculated on the basis of hotels mentioned.
Paradise Northeast does NOT have any HIDDEN CHARGES.
If someone asks for extra money during the journey, Please inform us. We will not be responsible if you pay the amount without our knowledge and consent.
Booking will be confirmed only after receiving the advance payment.
In case of non availability of rooms in the mentioned hotels, this will be communicated to you and we will provide other options.
Hotels for each category are selected as per the budget and through our feedback system.
There is no star category hotel available in all places. However, we provide the best possible option as per your tour category.
Certain hotel may enforce special tariffs for mandatory gala/dinner on special dates like Christmas and/or New Year's Eve etc. The surcharge in the hotel tariff is not included while calculating the total cost of the package. You may need to pay additional amount for certain hotels for some special dates.
The dedicated vehicle provided to you is only to serve you the itinerary. It is not at your disposal.
As per Tawang local laws, outside vehicles are not allowed for local sightseeing. Therefore, we may have to arrange different local vehicle for Tawang sightseeing and we can’t assure about the quality of that vehicle as they provide vehicles as per their methods.
Credit Cards / Traveler's check are not freely accepted in many places.
In this region, roof carriers are not allowed in the vehicles. So, it is advised to bring luggage accordingly.
We advise you to check the temperature/weather of the places you are going to visit, and bring necessary clothes accordingly.
Woolen clothes, Jacket, Raincoat/Umbrella etc. are advisable to carry according to weather conditions.
We suggest you to check reviews and location of hotels mentioned to make sure it is as per your preferences before confirming the package.
Any extra breakfast for kids which is not mentioned has to be paid directly by guest as per the hotel policy.
Paradise Northeast has the right to upgrade any hotel room type or vehicle type without charging extra amount from the guest. However, we never downgrade the same.
The guest must carry photo identification like Passport, Voter ID Card or Driving License IN ORIGINAL at the point of check in at the hotel.
