Upon your arrival at the Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, we shall pick you up from there and head towards Shillong. You can enjoy a scenic drive to Shillong (approx. 3.5/4 hours). On the way, we will stop at Umiam Lake to soak in the serene atmosphere, or enjoy boating (which is optional), or simply take in the surrounding pine-clad hills. Upon arrival in Shillong, you will be checked in to your hotel, where you can unwind after the journey. In the evening, we will take you to explore the lively Police Bazaar and Bara Bazaar, ideal for shopping local handicrafts, trying street food, and experiencing Shillong’s vibrant urban charm. You can wrap up the day with a traditional Khasi dinner at a any local restaurant, enjoying the warm hospitality of the city.
After breakfast, we will head to Shillong Peak (open daily, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM; closed Wednesdays), the highest point in the city, offering sweeping panoramic views of Shillong and the surrounding hills. Continue to Elephant Falls, a three-tiered waterfall providing a peaceful retreat and excellent photo opportunities. Later, will will head to the city to take a relaxing walk through Ward’s Lake and Lady Hydari Park, enjoying the manicured gardens, vibrant flower beds, and colonial-era charm. Spend some time appreciating the calm environment, capturing memorable pictures, or simply resting by the serene lake before returning to your hotel for leisure in the evening.
Start the day early with breakfast followed by a morning excursion to the David Scott Trail, a historic colonial-era path winding through dense forests, small streams, and rugged cliffs. The trail takes about 1.5/2 hours one way and is ideal for history enthusiasts and adventure seekers. After completing the trek, return to Shillong for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Mawphlang Sacred Grove (open daily, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM), where tourists can take a guided walk through the ancient forest or opt for a lighter visit based on preference. Note that David Scott Trail is optional sightseeing, and any guide required is not included in the package. This day’s sightseeing is only recommended for enthusiastic travellers, and people seeking a relaxed vacation can wind up the entire day by soaking the beauty of the Mawphlang Sacred Groves. We will return to Shillong in the evening/afternoon. If you skip David Scott Trail, we can also end your day with a beautiful sunset at the Lautlum Canyons (else, this will be covered on the very next day).
After breakfast, we will venture to the Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trail (open daily, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), a moderate trek featuring scenic bamboo bridges, rolling greenery, and panoramic viewpoints. The trail takes about 1.5/2 hours one way, offering a light but immersive experience into Meghalaya’s natural landscapes. Along the trail, enjoy the serene surroundings and take plenty of photographs of the unique bamboo structures. End the day at Laitlum Canyons to witness a breathtaking sunset, with layered valleys and dramatic hills creating a perfect natural panorama. Return to Shillong in the evening, and spend some leisure time exploring local cafés, sampling regional delicacies, or simply resting at your hotel.
On the final day, start with a visit to the Don Bosco Museum (open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM; closed on Sundays), one of the best cultural museums in Northeast India. Explore its multi-level galleries showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and crafts of the tribes of Meghalaya and surrounding states. After the museum, visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians (open daily; Mass timings at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and 10:00 AM on Sundays) to admire its majestic Gothic architecture and serene ambiance. If you want, you can take a final stroll through nearby streets or markets for souvenirs and local snacks. After lunch, we will check out from your hotel and transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding your refreshing and immersive Shillong experience.
